The moment you arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our friendly staff and escorted to your private van where you will be brought to Karatu Acacia Farm Lodge, your accommodation for 9 days. As your journey begins, prepare to be blown away by the scenic landscapes that you can see during the drive.
Be on set of Tarzan’s early films
Indulge in a day tour at Lake Manyara National Park where you will see enormous flocks of pink flamingoes, herds of tree-climbing lions and an incredibly prolific birdlife. You will also be able to witness a thick population of elephants as well as some of the largest baboon troupes in the country.
Visit the 6th largest park
In 2 days, you will embark on a journey to experience excellent game viewing, exciting wildlife encounters and lunches in the middle of the wild. With a backdrop of majestic baobob trees and twisted acacia, Tarangire National Park is home to four of the Big Five, giraffes and three endangered animals that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world: greater kudus, fringe-eared oryxes and the tiny Ashy Starling.
Visit a World Heritage Site
Your days will start early as you will go visit one of the World’s Heritage Sites, Africa’s “Garden of Eden” – Ngorongoro Crater. Aside from a full-day tour at the world-renowned Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will also have lunch at the beautiful Caldera while you enjoy birdlife- and game-viewing at its finest. On the following day, you will explore Olduvai Gorge – a site that holds the earliest evidence of human existence. For the extra free time, if any, it is all totally up to you!
Join the Hadzabe tribe
Today, you will drive to the land of the bushman, the Hadzabe – an indigenous ethnic group that usually lives in caves around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. The Hadza population is just under 1,000 where almost have of them are hunter-gatherers much like their ancestors for tens of thousands of years. More than learning about the culture and traditions, you will be able to interact with the natives.
Front seats to the Great Migration
On this day, you will fly from Manyara airstrip to North of Serengeti where you will start your journey of witnessing one of the greatest natural events in the world. For 3 days, you will experience firsthand the Great Migration as you will camp in Serengeti – the mother of all safari parks in Africa.
After flying back from the Serengeti, you have two options to spend this day before you leave: drive to the lodge for a hot lunch and then enjoy activities like swimming, bicycling, massage or farm tour at the Lodge before dinner OR go to Ngorongoro waterfalls before going back to the Lodge for a fun leisure afternoon.
