Ngorongoro Crater

You will be leaving the Lodge at 7:00am for your Ngorongoro Crater tour for full day. Lunch will be served in this beautiful Caldera as you enjoy game viewing and birdwatching. On your next day, you will leave at 06:30 am to visit Olduvai Gorge, a site in Tanzania that holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors. Paleoanthropologists have found hundreds of fossilized bones and stone tools in the area dating back millions of years, leading them to conclude that humans evolved in Africa.

Ngorongoro Waterfalls

You will experience Ngorongoro waterfalls, bicycles and leisure afternoon at the Lodge. Falls is located on the southern edge of the Ngorongoro forest. It is easily accessed from a newly-opened trail near Gibbs Farm in Karatu. The walk takes you through the forest, the elephant caves and Endoro Waterfalls. This is a 2-3 hour moderate hike and beauty of this trek lies in the fact that you get to be in a completely unspoilt forest. On a typical visit, you can come across Dik Dik (the world’s smallest antelope) and other forest creatures, including an amazing birdlife. Elephants also frequent this forest for its salt as this is evident from the cave-like structure that has been carved by elephants in search of this important nutrient.
